Once upon a time we did not have a zero so we could not have nothing but someone thought it would be a good idea – and it probably was.
Today a computer programmer will sometimes have to distinguish between zero, nil and null which can all mean different types of nothing.
That’s it. There is nothing more to be said.

My husband told me a story about a guy who had the last name Null. Apparently, in this day and age where we do everything on the computer, he has to call in to book plane tickets, so on and so forth, because of his last name. Just thought it was kind of fitting to share this with you after reading your blog post. 🙂 Sometimes Null doesn’t mean nothing; sometimes it’s a person’s last name. 😉
