Planet Panogaea

More bizarre one star reviews on the app store. This time for Panogaea. It is claimed that it does nothing and is a scam.

Admittedly having a web site which is still under construction does did not inspire confidence (The site is now up and running) but it all seems to work as described…

You can just click and drag directly in the image (using the Command and Control modifier keys) to make the changes. Full documentation and examples are available from the Help menu.

An Introduction to Panogaea from Kevin Gross from the official Panogaea support site.

  1. Thank you for this post, exactly what I was looking for. I just read the people writing it was a scam but didn’t really believe it as some people said it was great. Apparently it doesn’t have a splash screen and you have to use the menu “file -> open image”. Considering to buy it, looks like you can make some interesting stuff with it! 🙂

  2. Yes. Time to dig out the wide angle lens and do some pano shooting. I was considering expanding this piece as most people seem to be searching for some initial help but the instructions from the Panogaea Help menu seem to cover everything….. On opening images…

Image files can be loaded from the menu bar by selecting File… Open Image or by using the keyboard shortcut ⌘N (N for New). Alternatively, image files can be loaded by dragging an image to the Panogaea icon on the dock.

  3. Thanks for the nice review (I’m the developer). The website is now live… I was too busy working on the V1.1 update to get the site out in time for launch but now they’re both ready to roll. I can’t wait to see all the cool images people will be creating with Panogaea! I’ve got tons of ideas for new features so there is a lot more to come (shameless plug, I know).

And yeah, that 1 star review really tans my hide…
